1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster completion 2014

The day I brought "My Girl " home to Seattle, WA
on June 9th, 1996.  Total restoration ahead.
Everything on "My Girl" was wrong.
The person whom had the car before me did everything badly.
Most of the correct parts were missing.
Total strip down, and the Straight 8 Lycoming engine to the shop for 4 years of rebuilding.
Everything needed to be replaced, or rebuilt.

July 2000, the engine was just installed on the chassis.
Everything on the chassis was rebuilt or replaced.
The chassis went on display at the
Forest Grove Con Course de Elegance.
To my knowledge, this is the only chassis
to be displayed at such a show.

My Girl looked like this from 2001 - 2013
with the black strip down the "accent line".
After much discussion, I made the decision to remove the black line, and go with a more subtle "almond pin strip"
to make the car look more elegant.
This was what the Auburn deserved.
A total new paint job was required,
and more work done to the hood.

 Back to the paint booth
Hood now install back on "My Girl" after 17 1/2 years.
Correct headlamps installed.
Now the hood needed the "Almond pin strip"
that the back-end received.

The Auburn is ready to be shipped to the 800+ car show,
and to have the hood pin stripped.
And here she is, after all these years, on display at a car show!!!!

After seeing the "almond pin strip" on the car, I knew I made the right decision.  This was the "Look" I wanted for "My Girl".
Not too bad for being almost 80 years old!!!
Much Thanks to all the people, husband, friends, family, shops whom have helped me accomplished my dream.  Without their knowledge, time, and hard work, this car would still be a pile of junk.  I am so glad I found/rescued my dream car, that was
in the back barn, rotting in South Dakota.
